Dynamic Traffic ShaperAn old friend of mine is working on a Linux Quality of Service (QoS) related project called Dynamic Traffic Shaping (DTS). This project is a revamp of an old concept that he investigated while we're working together and that has given astonishing results on the field of IP QoS over point-to-multipoint and mesh network topologies. The DTS project applies a concept of adapting a certain QoS profile to the current needs of a link. This will improve the link response to congestion situations and helps profiling the overtime changing link needs. The DTS has also implemented a powerful and easy to learn language that will enable you to profile your link and traffic needs, while exploiting all the Linux power through the Traffic Control and Filtering capabilities. This promising project is still on an early stage of development but it's already testable.
